Safe Sport Framework

The safety of children, young people and other members in our program is our priority. We want swimming to be fun, enjoyable and safe for all. All of us in the Carlile Swimming community have a role to play in ensuring that we keep our club as safe and enjoyable as possible.

Swimming Australia’s Safe Sport Framework (SSF) 2020 has been designed to assist all swimming stakeholders with systems that identify and support the reporting of concerns about harm or potential harm to children and young people. Additionally instances of harassment, bullying, victimisation and other abuse continue to be managed within the Member Protection Policy.

Carlile Swimming (as an affiliate of Swimming Australia) adopts the two Swimming Australia policies within the Safe Sport Framework, in addition to having in place a range of complementary policies and procedures for internal use. Our Safe Sport Framework now consists of two documents:

Safeguarding Children & Young People Policy - Matters or complaints concerning the safety and wellbeing of children or young people in swimming must be considered under this policy.

Member Protection Policy - Concerns matters relating to such things as discrimination, harassment, bullying, victimisation and abuse.
